Take this note to the manager

Spend money instead

Is this even real?

We are a real company, made up of real people, backed by real scientists, and real investors.

Where does my money go?

We take your hard earned money and use it to buy permanent carbon removal credits from trusted climate-tech companies.

These durable (like, really friggin' good) carbon removal credits can cost $300-800 per ton... or, as it's known in the biz, a shit-ton.

We buy a mix of these to create a portfolio of DAC, biochar, ocean-bound, and ERW removed carbon. We then take this big pie of removed carbon and create little slices for you buy monthly.

We add 20% margin to the cost of the carbon removal credit. This goes to pay for marketing, operations, and one of those gold-plated Cash Canons our investors told us not to get.

Are you a Non-profit?

Nope. Climate Karen is a corporation... but not one of those run by fat cats. In fact, our actual fat cat Willis has no interest in the brand... or us.

Your money is not a donation. It buys permanent carbon removal credits from climate-tech companies that have already done the really hard work of removing carbon dioxide from the air.

While we love a good non-profit, we chose to go with a for-profit entity because we believe we can grow faster and make a bigger impact on the planet as a business.

I'd like to speak with the manager.

Definitely more of a statement than a question, but you'll fit right in.

Climate Karen was founded by two friends - and climate-optimists - Aaron White and Josh Elliott in 2024.

Our majestic co-founders were frustrated that it was so hard as an individual to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere AND it was hard to talk about climate change in a way that wasn't all doom & gloom.

So those two striking, handsome co-founders (some might even say radiant) put together a plan to change all that... and Climate Karen was born.

What's with the Karen?

We'll answer your question with another question. What if we all got a little unreasonable when it came to climate change and demanded to speak with the manager about this CO₂?

We are climate-optimists who believe being a little pushy might just save the planet. And maybe you feel the same.

The origin of the name Climate Karen was borrowed/stolen from marketing genius and wordsmith, Trent Wolbe, who had Climate Karen listed on his Linkedin profile. We are forever grateful for the inspiration Trent provided, and glad he didn't trademark the name.

Science and Carbon Q's

You pay us, then we pay climate-tech companies to remove carbon dioxide and permanently lock it up.

How much CO₂ does $10 get me?

Every $1 spent removes about 3 pounds of carbon dioxide and permanently stores it in the ground.

You don't get to keep the carbon dioxide that you removed, because a) it's underground, and b) you'd probably just put it back up in the atmosphere anyways, geez.

So when you spend your $10 at Climate Karen, you remove 30 pounds in total.

Who removes the carbon dioxide?

Climate Karen leverages the science and scale of some really amazing companies in an industry called "climate-tech." These trusted Einsteins have used real science to figure out how to accelerate the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Importantly, they've also figured out how to store it permanently in the ground.

We buy these permanent carbon removal credits from several different companies so you get a little portfolio of direct air capture, enhanced rock weathering, ocean-bound carbon removal, and biochar.

Is this like "carbon offsets"?

Carbon offsets are more like temporary band-aids, offering short-term solutions without tackling the root of the problem.

Permanent Carbon Removal Credits - which is what Climate Karen sources - are like locking CO₂ in a vault for centuries, making a real, lasting impact.

If you want to save the planet, we have to stop putting CO₂ in the atmosphere and we need to remove the stuff that already exists.

How do you verify and track the CO₂ removed?

Gold star for this one!

CDR credits are meticulously measured using advanced scientific methods, including direct monitoring and modeling, to ensure accurate quantification of CO₂ removal. Who does this? Scientists... good ones, too.

Each removal event is recorded in detailed registries, tracking the process from capture to permanent storage. These credits undergo rigorous verification by independent third-party auditors who assess the methods, permanence, and overall integrity of the removal process.

This thorough process ensures that each credit represents a genuine, lasting reduction in atmospheric CO₂, providing transparency and reliability.

To keep it simple for you, we keep this updated in your account so you can see exactly how many pounds of CO₂ you've removed.

How does the subscription work?

  1. You pay monthly
  2. We use that money to pay for CO₂ removal credits
  3. You get rewards
Why should I subscribe monthly?

We all emit CO₂ on a daily basis, so why not make it easy and suck up some of that carbon on a monthly basis. It's like your Netflix subscription, except good for the planet.

Also, the more CO₂ you remove the more rewards you earn. Feels good to do good... but also feels better to get a massive discount at some of your favorite brands.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Do bears shit in the woods? Just login to your account and make the cancel.

How do I get rewards?

Every $1 you spend removes 3 pounds of CO₂.

The more you remove, the more rewards are unlocked as you move up to new levels.

When you unlock a reward (like a discount to a favorite brand) we'll send you an email with the discount code.

Why does CO₂ removal costs money?

Getting that CO₂ up in the atmosphere was fun (remember that one summer when you fast-tracked a coal-fired power plant through congress? Oh wait. that wasn't you?)

Anywho, it was easy to get up there and now it's hard to get back out. That requires some pretty impressive technology to get it out of the atmosphere, all of which is expensive.

That's what your money is doing, removing carbon, and importantly, catalyzing an industry to make the planet less hot.
